GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ advised atg Luther & Maelzer GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Swedish Mycronic AB, on the acquisition of ETZ GmbH, a manufacturer of test probes.

Mycronic's Global Technologies division, of which atg Luther & Maelzer is a part, has acquired ETZ, a German company that manufactures test probes for testing unassembled printed circuit boards. ETZ currently employs 34 people and is based in Seesen, Germany, where production also takes place.

Mycronic's PCB Test division, which is part of Global Technologies, offers electronical test equipment for unassembled printed circuit boards. ETZ currently supplies most of the test probes for this division. Prior to the acquisition, Mycronic already held a 15 % stake in ETZ via atg Luther & Maelzer.

“Development and production of probes used in our machines is a strategic key competence and asset for the PCB Test business line,” says Magnus Marthinsson, Senior Vice President Global Technologies at Mycronic.

ETZ will form part of the PCB Test business line within the Global Technologies division.
