GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ has advised The Nutriment Company (TNC) on the acquisition of BAF Petfood, Germany's first BARF factory, from Fressnapf Group. This is the fourth acquisition of its kind for the Swedish company this year.

BAF Petfood, according to own sources Germany's first raw food factory, operates a pet food plant with a production and storage space of over 9,000 square metres. Based in Thalmassing, Germany, the company has established itself as a supplier to Fressnapf franchise partners throughout the country. 

By acquiring BAF Petfood from Fressnapf Group, TNC aims to expand its range to include steamed sausages and gently cooked frozen products. In addition, the company will gain access to Fressnapf’s retail network. In turn, Fressnapf franchise partners will benefit from TNC’s entire brand portfolio via a shared frozen food logistics center that guarantees the availability of high quality and natural pet food products.

The acquisition is a ”landmark“ for TNC, which has grown in just a few years to become the leading supplier of natural premium pet food in Europe. TNC will now have the ability to produce all product types and formats, enabling it to offer a true one-stop-shop to Fressnapf as well as its many other valued customers on the continent. Fressnapf also emphasizes the importance of the stronger future cooperation with TNC. Together with TNC, it will continue to drive new trends such as BARF and gently cooked fresh pet food.

The Nutriment Company (formerly Voff Premium Pet Food), based in Stockholm, Sweden, is  Europe's leading supplier of natural premium pet food. This is the fourth acquisition in Germany for the M&A team of GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ for TNC.
