GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ has advised The Nutriment Company (TNC) on the acquisition of the German raw pet food brand Graf Barf. This is the sixth acquisition of its kind this year in Europe for the Swedish company. 

Just a few months after the acquisition of BAF Petfood from Fressnapf, which was advised by GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ, TNC is further expanding its pioneering role in the German raw pet food market. With the acquisition of Graf Barf – a premium raw meat feed supplier owned by Crailsheim-based CDS Hackner GmbH – TNC aims to further strengthen its position as the market leader in natural premium pet food. With Graf Barf, CDS Hackner has made a name for itself as one of the leading suppliers of raw pet food for dogs in the premium segment. 

The acquisition strengthens TNC's presence in Germany, where the Swedish company already operates with brands such as Barfgold, DIBO, Nutriment and Aniforte. In addition, the acquisition lays the foundation for accelerated expansion into neighbouring markets, including Switzerland and Austria. The agreement also includes the establishment of a joint frozen food logistics centre, which will serve as TNC's central distribution centre for Europe, creating a cross-brand one-stop shop offering across continental Europe.

The Nutriment Company, based in Stockholm, Sweden, is Europe's leading supplier of natural premium pet food. This takeover is already the fifth acquisition that the M&A team at GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ has supported for TNC in Germany.
