GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ advises Vion Food Group (Vion), a leading international producer of meat, meat products and plant-based alternatives, comprehensively on the sale of its site in Buchloe. Following the previously announced sales of its Crailsheim and Waldkraiburg sites, this is the third transaction in close succession on which GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ renders legal advice.

As part of its strategic realignment, the Vion Food Group is selling its Buchloe site to the Irish ABP Food Group, a recognized leader in beef processing. The corresponding agreements have been signed on 1 May 2026. The Buchloe site processes approximately 90,000 cattle per year and employs around 270 people. The ABP Food Group is a family-run company with operations in Ireland, the UK, and continental European markets. By combining its existing expertise with a clear focus on quality and sustainability, it is creating a solid foundation for the further development of the Buchloe facility.

The transactions are part of Vion's stronger focus on the Benelux region. GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ has provided comprehensive advisory services over the past two years in connection with Vion's strategic realignment, most recently regarding, among other things, the acquisition of the Waldkraiburg site by US-based OSI Group and the Crailsheim site by Boeser Frischfleisch GmbH (see our press release dated 21 April 2026).
