Achim Glade is one of the founding partners of GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ and active in the CORPORATE/M&A department. His clients include domestic and foreign listed companies, large family companies and financial investors from Germany and abroad. Achim Glade has special consulting experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, takeovers of listed companies as well as joint ventures. Members of management boards and supervisory boards of leading German companies trust him as their personal legal advisor.
After training as a bank clerk, Achim Glade studied law at the University of Bonn (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität, Bonn), where he also earned his doctorate with a thesis on investor protection in futures trading under the supervision of Professor Marcus Lutter. In parallel to studying, he worked as a risk analyst in the corporate finance division of Deutsche Bank AG. Before founding GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ with his partners, he worked as a lawyer with Hengeler Mueller since 1999 and was a partner in the international law firm Taylor Wessing since 2003. In addition, he spent a year working for Davis Polk & Wardwell in their Menlo Park and New York offices.
As well as his native German, Achim Glade is also fluent in English and speaks basic French.
Apart from mergers and acquisitions, Achim Glade enjoys sailing and oldtimer cars.
