Dr Julian Schmid

Julian Schmid is an associate at GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ in the Competition practice. He advises German and international companies on issues relating to German and European competition law.

Julian Schmid studied law at the University of Bonn with a focus on competition law. At the same time, he completed a foreign language education in Anglo-American law.

During his legal clerkship, Julian Schmid worked in the antitrust team of a leading law firm and at the German Federal Cartel Office. 

After his Second Legal Exam, Julian Schmid worked as a research assistant at the chair of Prof. Dr. Daniel Zimmer in Bonn. His doctoral thesis on FDI-controls in Europe was published in 2025 and sponsored by the "Business and Law Working Group" in the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft.

Julian Schmid advises his clients in German and English.

In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing the piano and swimming.
