Sarah Vogel is an associate at GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ in the COMPETITION PRACTICE. She advises German and international clients on issues relating to German and European anti-trust law.

Sarah Vogel studied law at the University of Muenster with a focus on corporate law. As a minor subject she completed a training programme for English/Common Law. She passed her Legal State Exams in 2009 at the Higher Regional Court of Hamm and in 2014 at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf. From 2010 to 2013 she worked as a research fellow at the Universities of Bonn and Düsseldorf. She was awarded a doctorate in law from the University of Münster.

Sarah Vogel is a Member of the German Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht. Aside form her native language German she is fluent in English.

In her leisure time Sarah Vogel enjoys to spend time with family and friends while having a good meal. She likes to travel and enjoys long walks.


Sarah Vogel has recently worked on the following matters:

  • Defence in cartel proceedings of the German Federal Cartel Office (including the investigations “heat shields”, “food retail”)
  • Internal audits and leniency filings
  • Civil antitrust litigation regarding follow-on damage claims ("air cargo")
  • Administrative matters: representation of companies in administrative and court proceedings, including for example a third-party complaint for Fashion Outlet Montabaur against a competitor’s use of restrictive clauses
  • Merger control/advice on the preparation and implementation of mergers, e.g. to United Internet AG in the recent acquisition of Drillisch AG as well as the establishment of a joint affiliate marketing network (AWIN AG) with Axel Springer, ICG in its acquisition of ProAlpha, Towerbrook in the acquisition of shares in Aernnova
  • Compliance: Advice in the development, structuring, implementation, and evaluation of compliance organisations
