GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ advises INTERSPORT Deutschland eG (INTERSPORT), the leading wholesale cooperative in sports retail across Germany, on the sale of Sport Voswinkel GmbH & Co. KG to the Italian Cisalfa Sport S.p.A.

Cisalfa Sport, a sports retailer with over 150 locations in Italy and itself part of the Intersport network in Europe, is acquiring Sport Voswinkel with all 50 stores throughout Germany, including the headquarters in Dortmund. The acquisition also marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between INTERSPORT and Cisalfa Sport, whereby Cisalfa Sport will continue to have access to INTERSPORT services through Sport Voswinkel.

This cooperation will enable INTERSPORT to realize its growth and development plans within the framework of its strategy in an even more targeted and focused manner, as it is not focused on Own Retail. The sale will strengthen the presence of the INTERSPORT brand on the German market. INTERSPORT is aiming for a clear growth course and future investments after the closing, which is expected to take place this year.

Sport Voswinkel, founded in 1904 and based in Dortmund, operates 50 sports stores throughout Germany. It has been a member of INTERSPORT since 1989 and an INTERSPORT subsidiary since 2003. Cisalfa Sport is the largest Italian sports retailer.

The corporate team of GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ had already advised INTERSPORT in 2021 on the successful sale of INTERSPORT Austria to a group of well-known Austrian Intersport retailers.
