Dr Thomas Willemsen

Thomas Willemsen is an associate at GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ in the COMPETITION practice. He advises German and international clients on issues relating to German and European competition law including matters of foreign direct investment control.

Thomas Willemsen studied law at the University of Bayreuth. Afterwards he worked as a research assistant in the field of antitrust law for a leading international law firm in Duesseldorf. During his legal clerkship Thomas Willemsen worked, inter alia, for the German Embassy in Beijing and in the New York office of an international law firm. His doctoral thesis deals with the single entity of Chinese state-owned enterprises in European and German merger control law.

Thomas Willemsen is a member of the German Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht and the Forum Investitionsprüfung. Thomas Willemsen is fluent in his native language German as well as in English.

In his leisure time Thomas Willemsen likes to travel, enjoys to spend time with family and friends and is active in sports like gravel biking, running and hiking.
