Marco Sustmann is a partner at GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ in the CORPORATE practice. Before joining GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ in April 2012, he had worked as a lawyer since 2000 and had been a partner in the international law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP since 2008.
Marco Sustmann advises his clients on all issues relating to corporate and capital markets law. This includes the representation in court litigation and administrative proceedings. In addition, he also advises on national and international M&A transactions with a specific focus on public M&A work.
Marco Sustmann is the author of a large number of publications in the field of corporate and capital markets law and is regularly invited as a speaker on these topics. He is a commentator in the commentary on the WpÜG (German Securities Acquisition and Takeover Act) published by Baums/Thoma/Verse and co-author of the handbook on German Takeover Law published by Paschos/Fleischer.
He is a member of the Corporate Lawyers Association (VGR) and German Bar Association (DAV).
Marco Sustmann studied law at the University of Trier and the Rijksuniversiteit Limburg, Maastricht, The Netherlands. He was a research assistant at the institute of Prof. Dr Dr h.c. Hans Wieling, where he earned a doctorate in law in 2000.
He is fluent in German and English. In his free time Marco Sustmann enjoys sports and music.
